Hi again! A big week, but not for the reasons I explained last week. Whilst I still am buying a TV, I changed plans as the 10% deposit bonus was too good to ignore. I deposited an extra £300, and I’ve invested it all in players that I intend to keep going into the new season (primarily due to their PB potential).
JAMES RODRIGUEZ x20
JONATHAN TAH x50
I’ll begin with the ‘major’ sell this week, Wan-Bissaka. He’s now officially a United player and I’ve seen my opportunity to cash out on him after receiving a few dividends and some nice capital appreciation. Whilst being a young English player and signing for the best media club on FI, I don’t believe that AWB justifies his current price as other than the occasional media dividend that he may accumulate, his PB stats are not strong enough to make him a consistent contender for dividends throughout the season, and the money could be used elsewhere on cheaper, better defenders.
Admittedly, he could proceed to flourish at Man U and become a PB machine, but with all the problems surrounding the club at the minute, I view United as a media football team, not a PB team. If he has a major drop off and United have some favourable Europa League fixtures/ he wins a few Performance dividends I may jump back on, but I doubt AWB will be a part of my portfolio at any point next season.
My other sell is Hazard, who I’ve taken a small loss on that’s been countered out by dividends. I was intending to purchase a few of him as a punt for him doing well in media and performance at Real Madrid next season, but he is a premium price and I found that the money could be used elsewhere for CA on cheaper players (My portfolio has experienced rises across the board so this has seemed to be a good idea). I will probably get back on Hazard at some point next season if I have the funds available and he proves to be a success at Madrid.
Onto the purchases which aren’t too interesting considering they’re all top ups on players I’ve bought over the last few weeks, and my reasons for purchasing them haven’t changed at all. The only notable updates are that I’ve hit the superficial ‘milestone’ of having 200 Pogba, he’s so far proven my prediction of him creeping back up in price correct, and at this point I truly don’t believe he’ll leave United this Summer, meaning there’s one whole more season for him to soak up dividends.
The other player I’ve invested into more than others is Jonathan Tah, who is one of my favourite defenders, though he experienced a decent price rise since I first invested in him, meaning I am a little weary that his price could plummet as people take money out post bonus. With such positive PB stats though, he’s a solid hold for dividends, not just Capital Appreciation.
After Today I anticipate a sell off whilst the market slightly rebalances after the extreme influx of money recently, then following that I’m expecting a slight upturn in my portfolio and that’s when I’ll be selling my players. I’m gonna have a break from blogging next week during the sell-off, so see you in 2 weeks!
FIS: Enjoy your well earned break!
