Hello again! A strange week in that there has been more money flowing into my portfolio through deposits and dividends, though uneventful in terms of changes to the players within it. With that said, here’s how the past week has gone!
BOUGHT: KANE x20, AARON WAN-BISSAKA x20, HARRY MAGUIRE x10, RODRIGO DE PAUL x100, MEMPHIS DEPAY x30.
There is a new player in the port this week that I’ve invested a decent amount on straight from the start, Rodrigo De Paul. Normally I like to bring in players at around 30 shares as a ‘tester’ of them in my portfolio before investing further but straightaway I’ve been impressed with De Paul’s stats.
Throughout the season he’s been consistently fantastic in a sub-par Udinese side. With 9 goals and 8 assists in 36 Serie A matches this season, 3 positional wins and 2 matchday scores over 200 (2 scores of 199 and 197) he is a decent performance player even in the limitations of his 12th placed club.
Recently there have been some rumours linking him to Inter Milan and Spurs, whilst (obviously) I would love him at Spurs, a move to Inter Milan within the same league he’s doing so well in at a higher performing PB club would in my opinion further improve his prospects next year, whereas with Spurs’ frontline he would suffer from rotation though he would then become a media prospect if the transfer went through. If he stays at Udinese for next season he can still challenge for PB if he continued the form of this year, making this a low risk, high reward trade for me.
To briefly cover my other purchases, Depay is a player I wanted to round off at 100 for now, if he makes a return to the Premier League I will benefit from the media madness around that (especially with 5 media places being paid!), though if he drops upon not moving from Lyon I’ll be happy to top up on the drop for the next season.
AWB is a player I’m getting on for media prospects primarily, if he did make a dream move to United or stays at Palace I’ll be looking to sell him off going into the next season. Maguire has the continued rumours of United/City surrounding him, I’m hoping these rumours will eventually manifest in media dividends, though I’m happy with the capital appreciation I’ve received from him.
A somewhat momentous change to my portfolio is that Harry Kane is now my biggest holding in my portfolio, as well as the player I have the most shares in, finally knocking Pogba off being the ‘King’ of my index! I’m incredibly confident of his media prospects over the next few weeks with the Champions League final and Nations League, and during the domestic season he has always proved himself to be a solid media returner, winning 28p in media dividends over the 2018/19 season. I just have to hope he doesn’t receive a major injury again! Disclaimer: I do acknowledge that after the Nations League hype dies down he won’t have any real claim to media, though I view him as a long term hold, so if he drops I’ll be happy to top up.
It’s been a while since I’ve shown you how my portfolio actually looks, so here’s a view of it before we enter media madness!
COME ON YOU SPURS!
