As we move towards the business end of the season, we have now reached the stage where all Champions League and Europa League match days are boosted into the Triple Performance Match Day category.
Whilst normally the low number of games would constitute a Single Match Day, Football INDEX up the status to Triple Match Day as a way of spicing up the action and to reflect the relative importance of the games being played.
This means that next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the Champions League and Europa League Quarter Finals will all pay out 2p for Star Player and 5p for each Positional winner!
On Tuesday, there are three fixtures taking place - two in the Champions League: Liverpool v Porto and Tottenham v Manchester City, with a single game also taking place in Ligue 1: Nimes v Rennes, which is also included in the Triple Match Day status, despite it only being a regular French League game.
On Wednesday, there only two fixtures in the Champions League: Ajax v Juventus and Manchester United v Barcelona.
Finally on Thursday there are all four Quarter Final, First Leg matches taking place: Arsenal v Napoli, Benfica v Eintracht Frankfurt, Slavia Prague v Chelsea and Villarreal v Valencia.
The following week's second legs will also be enhanced to Triple Match Day status.
The advantages of buying players who are in the eligible fixtures is an obvious plus point, especially if you think their team is likely to progress into the Semi Finals. However, it should be kept in mind that historically, when teams are eliminated, their players tend to suffer a drop in price.
This would be especially true of those teams who are not in any other eligible Match Day league, Ajax, Benfica and Slavia Prague.
Whether we see that in the case of the more established teams and players at this stage, remains to be seen.
Of course, if you already own shares in players involved in the Quarter Finals, it represents a great chance for them to grab a Match Day Performance win and deliver a nice juicy enhanced bonus dividend win!
With teams like Barcelona, Manchester City and Juventus it gives a big chance to players like Lionel Messi, Raheem Sterling and perhaps Cristiano Ronaldo if he can make his return from Injury in time.
Meanwhile in the Europa League, Arsenal and Chelsea have had a good track record of supplying winners, whilst Daniel Parejo has also found some recent high scores for Valencia.
Remember, to earn dividends on any players for Match Day Rankings, you must purchase them before 2pm on the day of the matches taking place. So now is a great time to start thinking about who you would like to add to your portfolio before Tuesday!
