Football Index Performance Buzz Preview Week 1 Arsenal v Leicester CityFootball index are due to implement the long awaited Performance Buzz dividend to coincide with the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
Throughout months of speculation, traders on the trading platform have been trying to second guess both the companies and market moves in relation to the introduction of a second dividend stream.
We have seen mega moves in the market – especially in defenders as they would now seem to have a greater chance of drawing dividends through performance. Players such as Dani Alves have risen dramatically to near on double their pre performance buzz announcement price.
In comparison to the original Media Buzz concept, the performance dividend relies solely on player and team performance on the pitch, adding a fantastic, new element to the market.
Dividend returns will now be paid on each ‘Performance buzz day’ to the best players in each position as well as to the overall best player.
With this in mind at we will be introducing a new feature to the channel – a preview to each round of fixtures highlighting those players that may be in with a chance of glory that week!
The first scheduled game day is next Friday where Arsenal and Leicester open the Premier League campaign at the Emirates. In addition to this fixture there are only two other qualifying games that night being in Ligue 1 – Nice v Troyes and Rennes v Lyon.
There will be a couple of new faces on show in North London looking to make an impact, perhaps most notably the Gunners marquee signing Alexandre Lacazette making his bow in front of the home crowd.
A steady long term hold on the Football Index, the Frenchman will be hoping for a goal or two and more importantly looking to get off the mark in the Performance buzz! Now what competition is there for the striker dividend on the night? If Alexis Sanchez is match fit or even still around, no doubt many will back him to start the season with a bang.
Not forgetting the Foxes, Jamie Vardy will hope he can get off the mark early doors and could be a cheaper punt at 81p. Further afield Mario Balotelli will be lining up for Nice and will be looking to carry on his impressive form from last season.
Key players to look out for in terms of the midfield dividend on offer on Friday night will be Mezut Ozil and Riyad Mahrez.
Both are more than capable of scoring and laid on numerous goals for their team mates last season. In France, former Manchester United flop Memphis Depay will be hoping he can fire Lyon to an opening day victory. Depay could be a shrewd option for the performance buzz over the course of the year due to the Ligue 1 fixture calendar regularly setting Friday night fixtures.
In defence it looks to be a two horse race between Arsenals Hector Bellerin and Leicester’s Kasper Schmeichel. The only two players on the index who fit this category on Friday, one of them has to win.
While saves do score highly in the Opta stats and Danish keeper Schmeichel is sure to be busy– we would have to favour Bellerin as Arsenal are clear favourites to pick up the win and potentially a clean sheet bonus for good measure.
It is definitely exciting times for all traders as the performance buzz is introduced and it will certainly be interesting to see which players are most profitable with the new format! Hopefully our take on the first set of fixtures was helpful and it is a feature that we will revisit most weeks.
