Football Index Buzz Return on Investment: Part 2

Following on from our return on investment analysis part one where we looked back at the last year of buzz wins and explored where the value was in terms of dividend return, we will now look forward and try to pick out the future players who hold value within the buzz on football index.

We pick three players all for slightly different reasons who we believe will offer good return on investment in the coming year.

Our first pick is Manchester City’s Brazilian teenage sensation Gabriel Jesus. The forward joined City in January this year and has since gone on to score 3 goals in his first 4 Premier League appearances.

Unfortunately for Jesus himself, he then suffered a broken metatarsal injury with rumours that he may be out for the rest of the season. Meanwhile on the Index this saw a sharp decline in his price offering a fantastic opportunity for investors to get in on his futures.

Although Jesus only appeared a handful of times for City he already has 4 buzz wins to his name and even at £3.55 we see no reason that long term he won't prove to be a solid investment.

Second up is Bournemouth loanee Jack Wilshere. The Arsenal and England midfielder has an uncertain future at the Emirates with recent reports linking him to join up with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

With his price hovering around the one pound mark on the index, his six buzz wins last year gave a solid return on investment last year of 30% at that price. Also it is worth bearing in mind he was available much cheaper throughout last year. However, with his future up in the air and links to another Premier league giant over the summer we feel he has the potential to exceed last year’s 6 buzz winners to offer an even greater return.

At a price of £1 we feel it is well worth taking a chance on Wilshere.

Our final pick looking forward to the next year on the index is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although our usual rule is to only invest in domestic based players when looking for a buzz return, this time we are making an exception. A surprising 13 buzz wins last year was an impressive return for the Portuguese in a year where he won the European cup with Portugal and claimed his fourth Balon D’or.

However his buzz wins were not all directly attributed to these achievements. He has shown that when he features in the news, he knows how to rack up the points from the Buzz algorithm. With a tempting price of £1.84 last year he would have netted you an imposing 35% return on investment.

We see no reason that this form cannot be replicated in the coming year especially as his relationship with the Madrid fans seemingly deteriorates. This could result in speculation over his future and if this was to happen and perhaps a potential return to Old Trafford, he could prove to be a snip at his current price and become Football Index gold.
